from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Working from home had been a welcome break from the endless commuting, office politics, and workplace gossip, but for those returning to the office, the thought of a toxic environment may create feelings of dread. Existing in a toxic work environment is a recipe for disaster for your career and well-being. Its effect on your mental health tolls on your performance, satisfaction, stability, stress, and quality of work relationships. Facing these challenges can feel like a herculean task; so how can you combat this?
This workshop tackles the challenges of a toxic work environment and focuses heavily on solutions to improve the situation. It is not always feasible to immediately leave the workforce, so the first phase of the presentation offers strategies on how to deal with a toxic work environment. The second phase identifies ways of how you advocate for yourself and others, on the way out of the door. We will pursue techniques to ensure you are not moving forward with the trauma associated with that old organizational toxicity. If not watchful, we can be guilty of perpetuating harm disguised as protecting ourselves in new workplace situations.
